The Allure of Prince William’s Beard

The Allure of Prince William’s Beard

Prince William and Princess Kate have been relatively quiet this year due to her battle with cancer. However, a recent rare appearance by the couple sparked interest not only because of the Princess’s presence but also because of Prince William’s beard. The fascination with his facial hair led to social media followers expressing their admiration for the bearded royal. But what is it about a man’s facial hair that makes it so appealing?

According to love and relationships expert Dr. Tara, beards on men have always been perceived as attractive, dating back to our human ancestors. Evolutionary biologist Darwin even suggested that beards are sexually attractive to females and have played a role in human evolution. Additionally, facial hair is associated with qualities like aggression and masculinity, which tap into our primal instincts. It can signal higher testosterone levels, making the wearer appear more attractive.

Dr. Tara highlights a 2015 study that found a specific type of beard, similar to the one sported by Prince William, to be the most sexually attractive. This style covers the lower jaw, connects with the moustache, and hides the cheeks. Prince William’s decision to embrace stubble could be seen as a form of rebellion, especially considering that shaving was once a royal protocol he had to adhere to.

In his book “Spare,” Prince Harry mentioned that Prince William was required to shave his beard as per royal rules. The fact that Prince William now chooses to defy this protocol by keeping his facial hair shows a different, more rebellious side of the future King. This act of defiance adds to his allure and makes him even more appealing to the public.

Currently on their summer break with no royal engagements scheduled, Prince William and Princess Kate have taken a step back from the public eye. This break from official duties has allowed Prince William to let his facial hair grow unkempt, showcasing a more relaxed and casual side of the Prince of Wales.

Prince William’s beard not only adds to his physical appeal but also reflects his personality and willingness to break away from tradition. The allure of his facial hair goes beyond aesthetics, tapping into deeper evolutionary and psychological factors that make him stand out in the royal family.
